About The Campaign

TX8 had a long-term republican incumbent who announced that he was not running for this district in 2022. The district had been gerrymandered to include portions of Houston’s Harris County, changing its population to 67% suburban and 33% rural. The historical profile of this open district has led national election forecasters to label TX8 as a safely red district. But, the disconnect between positions promoted by the GOP’s first-time candidate and the voters in the district makes it more competitive than those outside the district realize. While the GOP candidate attacks DC democrats, I’m focused on reaching out to the rural and low-income communities which had been neglected by the retired incumbent and maintaining a high level of service to ALL residents of the district.

The theme for my campaign is Community First
